ALMONDSBURY CRICKET NETS : Almondsbury Cricket Club have begun gearing themselves up for the summer season and potential stars of the club's future are warmly invited to join in.
Nets training has already begun in earnest every Monday at Thornbury Leisure Centre between 7.30pm and 8.30pm until February 18, when practise sessions will be increased to two hours, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm, until Monday, April 7.

ROMAN GLASS PHYSIO APPEAL: Roman Glass St George, who perform in the Toolstation Western League first division, are in need of a physiotherapist to assist with matchday duties. If you can help then please contact managers Bob Cross (07850 483488) or Roger Hudd (07770 331491).

LONGWELL GREEN LEISURE CENTRE: The brand-new Longwell Green Leisure Centre, based at the Aspects Leisure Park just off the Avon Ring Road, has opened its doors to the public. The complex is being billed by South Gloucestershire Leisure Trust, which operates four other leisure centres at Yate, Kingswood, Thornbury and Bradley Stoke, as "the latest and best leisure facility around."
Marketing manager James Clifford said: "Longwell Green Leisure Centre really sets the standard for the future of leisure in the region. I'm really excited by the look and atmosphere of the centre and cannot wait to welcome the community in to use this fantastic new facility."

CLEEVE WEST CALL FOR SPONSORSHIP: Somerset County League premier division side Cleeve West Town are inviting potential new sponsors and investors to engage in talks with them with a view to helping drive the club forward in future times.
Chairman Mark Williams said: "We're looking for businesses to help further support the growth of all three of our teams, and this can be done by way of shirt sponsorship, matchball sponsorship or even sponsorship of the club as a whole."

DRG DELIVER TO BRACE: Gloucestershire County League club DRG Stapleton have raised a magnificent £375 for BRACE, a charity which raises money for research into Alzheimer's disease and care for the elderly. The cash was raised during a special night of entertainment at their Frenchay Park HQ led by popular local band Doing Time.
First team manager John McArthur enthused: "It was a terrific night and a smashing outcome and we'd like to thank the band for their wonderful support and everyone who turned out to make it such a success"

TRAIN WITH THE STARS: Saltford Stars Under-8s and Under-9s are seeking a few new players to boost their squads. Training is on Saturday mornings with qualified FA coaches. All abilities are welcome.
